Counselling Services

What is counselling?

Counselling is a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore any issues or problems with a trained professional. I understand that life can be hard and feel uncertain at times. There are unexpected and expected events, ups and downs and sometimes we as human beings forget to take time to sit with how we are feeling in a way that is self-compassionate. Together in sessions we explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours for a deeper understanding of who you are. Counselling does not provide advice or guidance, it empowers you to be your authentic self, without judgment.  


What happens in sessions?

Counselling differs depending on your individual needs, as does the type of therapy that is most appropriate to helping you meet your therapeutic goals. Each session lasts 50 minutes.


The counselling services I offer here are for adults [18+] only. I do not offer counselling services for children and young people, couples or families. For these services you would need to contact another counselling and psychotherapy provider.  


How will my sessions look? 

In sessions we can talk about any issues you may be experiencing and can include things such as your relationships, your childhood, how you are feeling, your thoughts, past life events or things you find difficult. People also find therapy helpful for personal growth and development.


Our first session is a free 20 minute initial consultation which provides a foundation to decide whether counselling is the best option for your needs. In this session, I will ask you what has brought you to therapy, we can discuss the issues you want to explore and what you need from therapy. I may ask you about your background to ensure the services I offer are right for you. 


We can then schedule in our regular sessions.  


The duration of therapy will be agreed together during your initial consultation. Options include short-term and longer term therapy with six-weekly reviews on how therapy is going to ensure you are getting the best out of your sessions.

How much does it cost?

The initial session is a free 20 minute consultation.


Counselling sessions cost £55 per session.


*Concessionary rates available.

*You may be covered for sessions through your private healthcare plan. Please contact your provider to find out more.
